The Independent policing oversight authority (IPOA) is working closely with civil societies to uphold human rights.
Addressing participants yesterday at the Swahili pot Mombasa during the release of Coast region human rights report 2019, the IPOA chairperson Anne Makori said so far they have resolved six cases of human rights abuse and investigations for 2003 other reported cases are still ongoing.
Ms Makori urged the public to work with her office to ensure justice is delivered to victims.
The event organized by HAKI AFRICA at the was attended by coastal residents and the Fast Action Movement.
The coast region has been bedeviled by abduction of innocent civilians some alleged to be members of terror groups, then brutally killed without being prosecuted in the court of law.
These alleged extra judicial killings are said to being executed by police and gangs.
