MORE THAN 45 TANARIANS NABBED BY POLICE IN KITUI

About 46 people were apprehended by security agencies on Sunday 3rd November 2019 in Kitui County during a security operation “to flush out persons who have encroached into a game reserve”,

The arrested, includes Tana River Ward administrator and 12 County security Enforcement officials, accused of being illegal occupants. others were camel herders from Tana River and and Garissa county

According to Kitui County Police Commander Llydia Ligame the nabbed were found in Kalalani, Kona Kariti and Ililuni area of the game reserve.

Kitui county Commissioner John Odengo said to end banditry and restore peace along the area of Kitui that borders Tana River, bandits who pass off as camel and livestock herders living in game reserve would be pushed out.

Two weeks ago a security operations in Inyali area about 300 families were said to have been left without homes after the Kitui county government demolished their houses including the only school in the area built by Galole Constituency CDF

Later High court judge Weldon Korir issued a temporary order to stop the ‘forceful eviction’ in the area.

There’s need of agent and permanent solution to this problem
