Enumerators in Tana Delta Subcounty, Tanariver County have refused to take oath to undertake the census enumeration activity.
Speaking on phone to one of the Enumerators, he claimed ” we have refused to take oath because there is lack of an official contract as a proof that we are census officers and that we shall get paid our dues, we have also refused the oath of service as we are yet to be reimbursed our transport cost”.
But an official who chose to remain anonymous claimed that the enumerators were reimbursed their transport three days ago, a total of six hundred shillings each and they have no valid reason not to have undertaken the oath and further claimed that some enumerators are inciting the whole issue.
The seven days training took place at Garsen High school from 13th of August, 2019 and is expected to end today.
