An accident happened on Friday night at Tarasaa-Minjila road where there was a collision between a lorry and a Nissan.
The accident happened around 8pm whereby the Nissan was heading to Minjila from Malindi. The accident led to three passengers from the Nissan front seat dead.
Two other passengers were in a serious condition and are currently admitted at Jocham Hospital in Mombasa.
The lucky ones escaped with minor injuries while others are safe.
It should be noted that this week we mark the UN Road Safety Week, with leadership being the theme. We urge our county leaders to spearhead in campaigning for road safety. Currently the Garsen-Hola tarmac has no road surface marking resulting to poor judgement by road users.
It would be great if we upgrade our roads to international standards to avoid such incident which occurred today in future.
